Creative Expression & Identity
This week focuses on teaching children how they can express themselves in a healthy and positive way.
Through creative expression we encourage children to experiment with all kinds of fun, dynamic and creative activities to help build their emotional literacy and confidence.
Building Confidence & Growing Resilience
Week 2 aims to build confidence and resilience.
Resilience is important for children's mental health.
Children with greater resilience are better able to manage stress, which is a common response to difficult events. Stress is a risk factor for mental health conditions such as anxiety and depression, if the level of stress is severe or ongoing.
Coping with Change
Week 3 is a very important week. We have learnt through previous programmes that children tend to repress negative emotions or release them in unhealthy ways. We can support children to understand their emotional blocks so they can communicate more effectively. We provide children with tools so they can become more resilient when dealing with challenging circumstances.
Cyberbullying & staying safe online
Bullying is one of the main concerns children express about moving up to Secondary School. Living in a technology based world, we feel it is important to teach children about cyber bullying and how to stay safe online.
We feel it is important to teach children that it is healthy to be unique and different. Through arts, crafts and games this week we offer an Equality awareness tool kit that is enriching and engaging.
Setting intentions & reaching goals
Week 6 is based around setting future goals and what children want to achieve. This week we set positive intentions and focus on how to stay happy and focused on those goals.
